Mala hot pot is a popular Chinese dish known for its spicy and tingling flavour. The word "Mala" is a combination of "ma" (numbing) and "la" (spicy), derived from Szechuan peppers and chilli. This soup base is the heart of a hot pot meal, providing a rich, spicy broth in which meat, seafood, vegetables and noodles are cooked.
