Panela, is unrefined cane sugar, typical of Central and Latin America in general, which is a solid form of sucrose obtained by boiling and evaporating sugar cane juice. It is also called golden sugar and ancient sugar. All nutrients and minerals are still present through the panela process. It has a nice sweetness with a caramel and malt aroma and light fruit flavor. Panela sugar can be used versatile for all dishes, cookies, snacks and drinks.
