Ingredients: precooked white maize meal 100%. May contain soy.
How to prepare the dough:
- 2 1/2 cups of water.
- 2 cups of P.A.N, 1 tsp salt.
- Pour water into a container. Add the salt and the maize meal gradually.
- Knead until a smooth dough is formed and let rest for 3 minutes.
How to prepare the arepa:
Separate dough into 10 portions. Take one portion in your hand and shape it into a ball, then press it with your palms to form a large patty shape of about 10 cm (3 1/2 in.) in diameter. Place onto a griddle or frying over a pan over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side. Brown on both sides and serve hot Open the arepa and fill it to taste.
