Japanese sake
Sake is a drink made from rice and is also called rice wine. Sake is the national drink of Japan that is brewed in a special way. Producing Japanese sake is such a complicated, labor-intensive and time-consuming process that no two bottles of Sake are the same. Your sake is therefore truly unique! That is why the taste of each Sake can also differ greatly, but it can be compared to the taste of a sherry.
How do you drink sake?
Sake can be drunk in many different ways. For example, you can drink sake beer warm, cold or at room temperature. Most sake is still served warm these days. This warmed sake is also called Kan. Chilled sake, or Hiya, usually concerns premium sakes. This allows the subtle flavours and fine aromas of premium sakes to come into their own. Serving at room temperature is the most versatile and can therefore be used for many sakes.
How do you serve sake?
Besides ways of drinking sake, there are also a number of special ways of serving sake. Such as serving in a Tokkuri bottle, which is mainly used to slowly heat sake. Sake can also be served in a Masu box. This comes from the maturing of the sake in wooden barrels. Another unique way is Ochoco, which is serving in authentic ceramic cups. The most common way remains serving in a classic wine glass.
In short, sake is a versatile drink, which you can drink in many ways. Curious or already a sake fan? Then buy sake easily online at Tjin's Toko.
