VASOS DE FRUTA (MEXICAN FRUIT CUPS)

Mexican fruit cups are adaptable, simple to create, and cool. It is a wonderful method for enhancing the flavour and zest of fresh fruits.
These two words—healthy and flavourful—make a lethal combination. Mexican fruit cups are a tasty, energising, and incredibly healthy example of this combo.

On a bright sunny day, nothing beats a cup of fresh tropical fruits flavoured with Mexican tastes. It suffices to improve your mood.

 

What are Mexican fruit cups?

Vasos de fruta, or Mexican fruit cups, are a common and well-liked street food in Mexico. Fresh tropical fruits, primarily mangos, pineapples, jicama, watermelons, etc., are often used to make it.
Chili powder and delicious Mexican salsa are sprinkled and drizzled on top.
The combination of fresh sweet and sour fruits, a little kick from the spicy, enhanced by the salsa and lime that cuts through it all, brings so much flavour to the dish.

What makes a Mexican fruit cup so great is that you can make one without following a recipe.
There are four main ingredients:

fresh fruit

lime

Mexican salsa

chili powder

So you can make a delicious and hydrating Mexican fruit cup with any fruit you have at home or that is in season!

 

MEXICAN FRUIT CUPS (VASOS DE FRUTA)

Mexican fruit cups are adaptable, simple to create, and cool.

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients
1 large mango (peeled and cut intro spears)
6 longans (peeled and remove pit)
1/2 small pineapple (peeled, cored and cut into cubes)

other options:

watermelon (peeled and cubed)
cucumbers (peeled and cut into spears)

For Serving
Tajín or chili powder
Chamoy, Valentina or any hot Mexican salsa)
1 lime (some for serving and some for garnish)

 

Method 

Step 1: Place your fruits
Place your fruits in a cup and alternate each type so you'll have a nice mix in the end.

Step 2: Fresh lime
Squeeze a little bit of lime juice over the fruit.

Step 3: Add the spiciness
Sprinkle some Tajín and drizzle some Chamoy salsa on top. (read notes)

Step 4: Finish for serving
Place a wedge of lime on the cup and serve.
